SLASH: Remaining Japanese Dates Canceled
March 15, 2011Legendary guitarist Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES) has been forced to cancel the remaining dates on his Japanese tour following the 8.9-magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami that shook Japan early Friday morning and left more than a thousand killed and many more missing.
Commented Slash: "It's logistically not possible for us to do the Tokyo [on March 16 and March 17] and Yokohama on March 18] shows as scheduled. We will try to reschedule them [as soon as possible].
"Great gig in Osaka [on Monday, March 14]. Great spirits, despite all that has happened.
"We're positively coming back soon to play Tokyo and Yokohama. In the meantime, lots of love to the Japanese fans. [You] will make it through these difficult times."
Added ALTER BRIDGE vocalist Myles Kennedy, who is touring with Slash as the singer of the guitarist's solo band: "So sad we had to postpone the rest of our Japan dates. Breaks my heart to see what is happening over here.
"I want to convey to everyone here in Japan that you will continue to be in my thoughts. I admire how you are all dealing with this."
